The project aims to get children from financially vulnerable families to go to school. Sponsor Light has started an activity house ”Zigge House” for children, where they meet during weekends and holidays to read, play etc.
They have also initiated efforts that enable livelihoods for the children’s parents. The work is led by three employed coaches, formerly ”Sponsor Light children”. It is intended to build a school library.
Children regularly come to the small library at ”Zigge House” to read and borrow books. Sponsor Light has adapted its activities to the pandemic, they arrange home teaching with independent teachers as the children gather at each other’s homes and study to keep the spirit and studies up.
The grant from Bokhjälpen has partly gone to books in basic subject to maintain the quality of home schooling, and partly to replenish the library.
